Rose, an aid-worker supporting refugees in the United Kingdom, wanted to see if a refugee mother wanted a medical consultation for her baby in the morning. The only problem was that the mother only spoke Farsi, and Rose did not. Rose knew that having a sick child was stressful enough, even when knowing how to access medical services. She felt pressed for time, and didn’t want a language barrier to risk the child’s life. Luckily, Rose knew about Tarjimly and was able to immediately connect with a translator who helped her translate her message from English to Farsi, arranging a time and place to meet to head to the hospital the next day. The fast and reliable human to human translation made it easy for Rose to communicate with the refugee mother she was helping. This example demonstrates how Tarjimly is being used by Aid-workers in the Medical sector. Aid workers are often limited in the support they can offer due to the language barriers they encounter in the field. Tarjimly aims to remove these barriers, promoting equitable access to services regardless of the languages spoken by immigrants and displaced persons.
